Ditching The Critics

It is not the critic who counts:
not the one who points out
how the strong woman stumbles
or where the doer of deeds
could have done better.
The credit belongs to the woman
who is actually in the arena,
whose face is marred by dust
and sweat and blood,
who strives valiantly,
who errs
and comes up short
again and again,
because there is no effort
without error or shortcoming,
but who knows

if she fails,

Our brains are wired to remember negative feedback. That gives the critic a lot of power. 

But I know it’s possible to change these stories and unfreeze our deeply-wired habits of hiding.
